Legal Professor Weighs In On King Flag Controversy
Well I don't agree with Dr. Larry Little's position on what a federal judge would do on this case. Which I might add is my CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT, to voice my opinion. There is nothing in the Constitution stating there is to be a separation of church and state. The phrase "separation of church and state" is derived from a private letter written by President Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to Baptists from Danbury, Connecticut. In that letter, referencing the First Amendment to the United States Constitution,
Jefferson writes: Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof", thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.[17]
So now let's get this right. America was founded by people who were trying to escape from the Church of England. The Church of England was the Government and their religion. America was built by God fearing people who built farms, cities, churches, schools. They fought wars because of their Christian beliefs and for us to be a free nation. Our Veteran's fought for US and all future generations to have it easier in life. Maybe that is where we have gone wrong. Maybe life is too easy and people don't want to work hard anymore they just want to lay around and they expect someone to give them a check. Funny how the man who started all of this (allegedly)was breaking the law by running an unlicensed business and (allegedly) was pulling up signs for the Stokes County Fair and the Pow Wow Event. I don't know if that part is true but King is a small town and everybody knows everybody's business.

RALLY HELD IN KING, NC.
KING, N.C. (WGHP) - Supporters of the Christian flag rallied in King again on Monday night, hoping to push city leaders to overturn a decision to remove the flag from the Veterans Memorial.
The group brought a Christian flag to the rally and held a prayer vigil at the memorial. The group has kept vigil at the site since last week.
Those who attended the rally said public support is what keeps the rally going.
"They were talking about one obscure flag in the back corner of the park. All of a sudden, there's flags on every porch, on every business and in every yard. It really brought a lot of awareness to the fact that this is a Christian community," said Mike Marshall, a flag supporter.
The town also faces a potential complaint over a cross at a grave marker at the memorial. The city was given a deadline of Saturday to remove the cross but the cross has not been removed.
