Thousands may lose jobless benefits Saturday

RALEIGH--About 37,000 North Carolinians could lose their unemployment benefits.
A handful of General Assembly members met in a rare Saturday session and approved extending jobless benefits for an additional 20 weeks. With a midnight deadline looming, the governor vetoed the bill.
The legislation would force her to cut 13 percent from the spending plan she proposed as a starting point for negotiations in next year's budget. Peace College Political Analyst David McClennan said this is a highly unusual move that puts the Republican Party in the General Assembly against the Democratic Governor.
"A lot more government workers will be laid off. A lot more services that North Carolinians are used to which means education, health care, and public safety [could be in jeopardy],” said McClennan.
The unemployed will lose their benefits for at least two weeks. It is likely lawmakers will work toward re-instating those benefits next week.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO CUT THEIR MONEY OUT THEN CREATE JOBS FOR THEM.
