Jamie Rominger Dies At Baptist Hospital
STOKES COUNTY, N.C. -- A junior at South Stokes High School injured in a car crash last week has died, school officials said.Jamie Rominger and a passenger were involved in a crash while she was on her way to school.For the past several days, students and staff at the school wore yellow in Rominger's honor. It was her favorite color.Rominger's cousin, Sidney Shelton, said Wednesday that the outpouring of support from the community has helped the family cope."You don't realize how much people care until something like this happens," Shelton said. "It's been wonderful seeing how everyone contributes."Principal Rich Pekar said students were notified Thursday morning. Rominger died Wednesday evening at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.The passenger in the crash was treated and released the same day.
